Claude is just walking around. It's a little weird being on this side when those announcements go out. He will pause when he sees Adolphe though, and peering at him to gauge vibes. ]
[ Adolphe is... having mixed feelings, but it's not as rancid as his emotional episode before when he actually murdered someone. Yippee! (This is public knowledge on graveyard chipper)
[ No... even after he killed without an affliction. Heartless would take a different set of actions. ]
Usually Saturday or Sunday. The pattern has been victims coming in on Saturday and whoever dies in execution comes on Sunday. There was a slight delay in the first batch though.
[ aka out tutorials
He looks at the letters in his own hands for a bit. ]
It feels surreal to receive letters from people who'll be here soon.
[ Adolphe is pretty much trapped at the Health Center right now, in one of the five beds that are there. He's bandaged up, but he's still cold to the touch as if he's a corpse, but no it's just being dunked into a winter ocean full of ice. His eyes are no longer full of blood, one of them has a gauze over it to heal the partial damage, he's on painkillers... he's being a good patient and not moving! Yippee!
His good eye looks over at Claude, slowly blinking. Yeah, he's up for it. ]
[ Yeah! Great aesthetics, by the way. But out of sight, out of mind. He looks mostly fine apart from all the bandages and gauzes. He gives a short nod in response to the question.
There's a hologram image that appears. There's a baby with bright blue eyes. The mother is dead, looking like she fell down from the top of stairs and accidentally stabbed herself with the knife when she fell. The maid looks disgusted at the baby. ]
Did you know when you're done hallucinating on an acid trip and on painkillers and returning from hours of cycle of pain and numbness, that exhausts you mentally? Surprise! Anyway, his thought gets cut off and he grimaces. ]
Anyway. He just took too many because he thought they didn't work and now he's... well, not in pain for the most part. Adolphe moves his arm with the most minimum movement to take the water and drinks it. Kind of. His mouth is also partially covered due to the diagonal claw scratch on his face, so he can only drink from a small gap of the bandages. It's rough out here.
To the point that it's unreal. We even come back from dying so easily. ]
week 5, friday

He spots Claude looking at him. ]
... Hey.
[ Surprisingly normal and not lashing out. ]
no subject
[ That awkward moment when you know someone might be going through it but you're not close. ]
... How're you taking the news?
no subject
I should be asking you. Weren't you two close?
no subject
[ Pursing his lips a moment. ]
Even if it's not the end, dying isn't a pleasant experience. I hate that any of them went through it.
no subject
... As long as they weren't horribly maimed.
[ His standard is on the floor. ]
I thought your reaction would have been stronger, since Yves considered you to be a close friend.
no subject
He gives Adolphe a puzzled look. ]
Do you want me to have a breakdown in front of you?
no subject
No.
[ He doesn't look like he wants that. ]
I just thought you'd have more to say.
no subject
I'm frustrated. [ But his tone is measured. ] I'm not sure what exactly you expected me to say.
no subject
[ He'll admit that. ]
Will you at least see them when they arrive? They'll be coming in the same place you did.
[ Adolphe has a handful of letters in his hands because he was on his way from getting them out of the mailbox. ]
no subject
[ Does Adolphe think he's heartless... ]
It normally takes a day for them to arrive, right?

week 6, thursday, health centre
Okay. He's visiting Adolphe... Peeking in. ]
Hey. You up for a visitor?
no subject
His good eye looks over at Claude, slowly blinking. Yeah, he's up for it. ]

I SEE
EYE BLOOD
Claude grimaces. ]
Do you know where you are?

GREAT ]
... Can you speak?
no subject
Yeah. ]
no subject
Who's this baby?
no subject
We were supposed to kill it, but we didn't know it was a baby until we saw it with our own eyes at the top of the castle. ]
no subject
Understanding hits and he just nods. ]
Okay. I think I get it. [ Bummer. ] Well, I can see you're physically on death's door...
But your head's clear?

Whoa, easy.
[ Getting up to look at the medical supplies. It doesn't specify how strong the painkillers are... Imagine if there was straight up morphine here.
Anyway, grabs what he thinks is most effective along with a cup of water to bring over. ]
Here. Sorry, I don't know how much it'll help. At least we seem to heal quicker on this side.
[ Man. They should've killed a healer to get some healing magic. ]
