Did you know when you're done hallucinating on an acid trip and on painkillers and returning from hours of cycle of pain and numbness, that exhausts you mentally? Surprise! Anyway, his thought gets cut off and he grimaces. ]
Anyway. He just took too many because he thought they didn't work and now he's... well, not in pain for the most part. Adolphe moves his arm with the most minimum movement to take the water and drinks it. Kind of. His mouth is also partially covered due to the diagonal claw scratch on his face, so he can only drink from a small gap of the bandages. It's rough out here.
To the point that it's unreal. We even come back from dying so easily. ]
[ Adolphe quietly sighs and nods to Claude in thanks for the water. He'll drink on his own though, even if it's difficult.

This redemption project is flawed and terrible. The protocol has no respect for the concept of death and the god is supposedly some sort of fish. What in Hades is that supposed to be? A life, even after dying, be treated as some murder mystery entertainment and even along the same lines with what happens on Sundays. Whoever created these protocols don't give two shits about us, and only care about our souls or what the fuck ever.
I agree the "protocols" after the murders are foolish and make no sense... Why do we catch only one killer a week when there's multiple? Why do we have to do anyway, when it's heaven's responsibility to maintain this project not ours?
I don't get it at all. I don't feel saved or redeemed, or anything.
Adolphe is so angry about this. Fuck anyone that calls themselves a god. For real though. MG mechanics are truly unfortunate and make NPCs look bad every single time.
I feel the same regarding "feeling saved or redeemed". ]
[ i need a tone indicator is he being sarcastic about being a help haki
Anyway, the question makes him smile. ]
Fódlan? It's a bit of a mess. We're in the middle of a continent wide war. There are parts of the country that are relatively untouched, but it's still a stressor.
There's a lot of great people though, who want to make it a better place. They're just shackled by a nobility system and strict censorship by the Church.
[ But hopefully I'll be removing Rhea from the equation soon. ]
It is the uniting thread... At least misery loves company. [ Tilts head. ] I do hope to build a better future for Fódlan, but I can't promise it'll happen anytime soon.
They are. [ He groans. ] They only care about their own benefit—which, I appreciate they're looking out for the citizens of their regions, but it doesn't help when the entire country is being invaded.
I suppose I'm fortunate that I was born with a silver tongue so I can convince those geezers to work with me instead of arguing for days on end.
[ Ah, yes. Those with power only look after themselves and how they appear to be. Their ego and selfishness. If Adolphe simply lacked the restraints, he would go and cut down all the nobles. Alas. His justice: A.

We were supposed to kill it, but we didn't know it was a baby until we saw it with our own eyes at the top of the castle. ]

Understanding hits and he just nods. ]
Okay. I think I get it. [ Bummer. ] Well, I can see you're physically on death's door...
But your head's clear?

Whoa, easy.
[ Getting up to look at the medical supplies. It doesn't specify how strong the painkillers are... Imagine if there was straight up morphine here.
Anyway, grabs what he thinks is most effective along with a cup of water to bring over. ]
Here. Sorry, I don't know how much it'll help. At least we seem to heal quicker on this side.
[ Man. They should've killed a healer to get some healing magic. ]

Yeah, it's enough to mess with your head. We shouldn't get used to dying and coming back.
no subject
None of this should... have even happened in the first place.
[ His voice sounds so raspy and hoarse. It's terrible, even after the water he just drank. ]
no subject
No, it shouldn't. [ Looking at him. ] Do you want to air your complaints out?

As you said, they take time. I might as well get started early. I won't deny I'm a little more green than some of the other nobles.
