The ones that I've seen use technology, but some of them could use magic. I haven't seen every kind of ship out there.

Well, travel by horse is much slower than a magic ship. Not to mention most people just don't have the luxury. They work off the land, and would have to hire someone to look after it while they're gone.

Not to mention it's dangerous, with wild animals and bandits out there in the wilderness.

I see. There's a lot to consider if you'd want to travel. So many preparations before you could really do it.

It depends on where you're trying to go. Some star systems are considerably more dangerous and you'd be more likely to be attacked.

But there must be more accessible travel?

There are ships that can take people around in the safer areas.
